Ravel's "Bolero"10/27/2023 I have listened to three recordings of Ravel's "Bolero" after listening to Dave Hurwitz's video on it-
I've enjoyed so far the Riccardo Muti & the Philadelphia Orchestra the most. It is certainly grand. The percussion readlly goes to town. The interesting celesta, piccolo, and whatever reed that Ravel uses to sound like a Sesquialtera stop on the organ. Beautiful. Clever. I have also really liked the Jean Martinon, and Michael Tilson Thomas (LSO) recordings! I need to practice now.
